Police investigate Pitt Meadows home invasion
Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating a home invasion Monday in Pitt Meadows.
Police were called to a residence in the 19400 block of Hoffmann Way just after 8 p.m. Three men had gained entry to a home, claiming to be plainclothes officers. They assaulted one of the occupants, while the another managed to flee and alert a neighbour.
The suspects then ran out of the house and drove off in a white van. As they were driving off, the passenger’s side door mirror was broken off.
One of the suspects is described as being a white man, 30 to 35 years old. His accomplices wore disguises. Witnesses and the victims described the van as being white and missing the passenger door’s exterior mirror.
“The victims in this incident are extremely shaken by the ordeal," RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop said. "They report seeing a gun and a knife, but neither was used during the incident. Although the motive for this event is not clear, generally speaking these types of incidents are not random attacks, and are targeted.”
