Operation Red Nose volunteers are back on the road.

In Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, volunteers gave 21 free rides home last Friday – the first time the service was available this holiday season –  and 26 on Saturday.

Operation Red Nose will operate across Canada, including 12 communities in B.C., until Dec. 31, getting motorists and their vehicles home safely.

In addition to promoting safe driving in a non-judgemental manner, Operation Red Nose is a fundraising campaign for 111 non-profit youth and amateur sports organizations.

Each year in Canada, organizations raise $1,300,000 through donations received from the users of the Operation Red Nose service.

This year, the Alliance of Beverage Licensees of B.C. has contributed $5,000 to a gas fund distributed through Operation Red Nose organizations.

• Find Operation Red Nose on Twitter (@ORNose), or its new website. Official Red Nose posters also bear a QR Code which, when scanned with a smartphone, will bring users to the website.

Book a ride

To book a ride call 604-515-6673 or 1-877-604-NOSE. This year the service will  be in operation between 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. on Nov. 25 and 26, and Dec. 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, and 31.
