Clay and Abraham Gagnon of Whonnock Roofing and their employees put down their hammers spent Tuesday morning loading shopping carts with groceries for the Friends in Need Food Bank in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

This year’s donation will mean they’ve raised more than $40,000 over the past eight years.

The company filled 15 grocery carts full of non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank.

Friends in Need gave them their “Most Wanted” list which includes meal in a tin, canned meat and fish, and canned fruit and vegetables.

Whonnock Roofing is a family owned business with great community spirit that has been serving the Ridge/Meadows, Tri-City area and beyond for more than 30 years.

Their foremen have been with the company from between 12 to 20 years and many other employees have been with the company for over five years.

Clay Gagnon  is more than happy to assist the Friends In Need Food Bank as he knows what it is like to raise a family.

He and his brother Abraham want to make sure everyone has enough food to have a happy Christmas.

“This is a great way to give and let my staff have fun doing it” he said.
