Local farm claims top marketing prize

The Pitt Meadows farm knows what it’s doing when it comes to getting its products to market.

Hopcott Farm, which runs the Meadows Maze and Hopcott Premium Meats on Old Dewdney Trunk Road, was awarded the 2014 Best of Show award in the North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

The award is given for showing “consistency in excellence” and is based on a farm having the biggest impact in participation, education and innovation.

According to its website, Hopcott credits the association for helping them to develop their family owned and operated Meadows Maze and Hopcott Premium Meats.

The North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association is the world’s leading farm direct marketing and agritourism association helping farmers sell their products directly to consumers at farm stands, farmers’ markets, and on pick-your-own farms.
