Magician reveals Christmas magic
Canadian illusionist John Kaplan brings his acclaimed Magic of Christmas show to Maple Ridge on Saturday.
Kaplan combines magic with popular Christmas carols in a show that’s part magic, part music, part comedy and pure delight.
Watch a fully-decorated Christmas tree appear out thin air and Frosty the Snowman magically come to life.
A snow white dove will transform into a pure white rabbit during Bing Crosby’s White Christmas and children will be treated to an extra-special guest.
Kaplan has been touring Canada for over 20 years and performing fundraising shows for school and community groups all across the country.
Sponsored by The Maple Ridge Montessori Society, the proceeds from Saturday's show will allow the society to expand its current publicly-funded, elementary level program to include Grades 4, 5 and 6.
The Montessori society wants to raise $15,000 towards equipping a third classroom at Hammond elementary, where the program is based.
• Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children or $35 for a family (2 adults, 2 children). There will be two shows on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the ACT. Advance tickets may be purchased and information is available by calling the ACT at 604-476-2787 or online at www.theactmapleridge.org.
