Maple Ridge teen to host Singing Idol finale
Vanessa Hillman had the opportunity of a lifetime over the weekend, sharing hosting duties and performing for the PNT Singing Idol contest. The third annual event is the biggest talent contest in B.C. for the Filipino-Canadian community.
The 15-year-old Thomas Haney student performed with the PNT Wonderkids, also known as the PNT Singing Champions, who were an opening act for Philippines’ popstar Sarah Geronimo during her 2010 tour.
Hillman is also a member of the musical trio Teenage Dream, a finalist at the PNE Showdown last year.
The PNT Singing Idol’s grand finale takes place on Saturday Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. at Broadway Church in Vancouver.
The winner will receive a round trip from Vancouver to the Philippines and $1000 in cash.
