Fibre artist to discuss latest works, technique
Michelle Sirois-Silver explores the parallels between her fibre art work and the natural world, as she evokes the passage of decay, repair and renewal in her exhibition Love, Decay, Repair at the Maple Ridge Art Gallery beginning this week.
Sirois-Silver will be present for a number of events at the gallery in the coming month to discuss her work.
There will be a public reception to open the show this Saturday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m., and is free to attend.
On Saturday, Sept. 15, Sirois-Silver will provide a demonstration and discussion of her rug hooking technique used for work in the exhibition, from 2 to 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 29, Sirois-Silver will be giving a slide presentation about the creative process behind her latest body of work.
The Maple Ridge Art Gallery is located at The Arts Centre & Theatre, 11944 Haney Place, Maple Ridge.
