Remembrance Day tradition returns
Known as the 'King of Swing,' Vancouver legend, Dal Richards continues to share his talent and passion for music.
Along with his orchestra, their unique sounds capture the best of the big band era, along with jazz, rock and pop standards from the 1930s to today. Richard's Remembrance Day performance is a long-time tradition at The ACT.
The consummate entertainer and story teller, 94-year-old Richards isn't ready to hang up his hat.
"I'm still having fun leading the band and entertaining British Columbians; and I plan to keep going as long as I can," he says.
In addition to his performances, Richard has recorded and produced five CDs. His latest, Dal Richards and Friends, One More Time was recorded live in CBC's newly refurbished Studio One and was a co-production with CBC Radio.
He also has a popular radio show 'Dal's Place', a staple on the air-waves in Vancouver for more than 25 years.
• Dal Richards plays the ACT Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Tickets at actmapleridge.org or call 604-476-2787.
