Apply for arts council scholarships

The Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Arts Council has five scholarships up for grabs this year and the deadline is fast approaching.

Valued at $1,000 each category, the scholarships are open to graduating students from high schools in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

The areas are visual or media arts; music; drama or theatre; literary arts and dance.

The deadline for submission is April 2.  To learn more, visit actmapleridge.org.

Applicants must be available April 16 after 3 p.m. for an audition and interview.

Wacky Wednesdays

The Maple Ridge library hosts Wacky Wednesday: Games Afternoon on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of pizza and board games. Registration required.

Earlier in the day, enjoy a special storytime for grandparents and their grandchildren that begins at 10:15 a.m. A Grand Time for Stories is children ages 2 to 6 and grandparents of any age.

• Lego fans, put your creative minds to work and build something awesome during LegoMania, hosted on Thursday, March 28.

Use Lego blocks from the library or bring your own. Your creations will be displayed on a photo bulletin board in the library.
