Re: Picket signs at Bing’s office protest child and youth worker wages (The News, April 14).

Child and youth workers complaining about making $36.50 per hour, equal to ($73,000 on 2,000 hours yearly work ), this not being enough pay? That most likely does not include benefits.

Are these folks all university graduates? Or is this a hard-to-learn occupation? Many people would be lucky to earn this much money.

On the other side, if parents would educate and guide there children properly, we would not have all these overdose cases or trouble with those in ministry care.

The problem with today’s society is the ‘me-first’ syndrome.

Us oldtimers, we were too busy making a living and did not have time or money for these modern must-have habits.
