Big feast in Maple Ridge
The Feast of Fields event in Maple Ridge drew more than 700 foodies from across the Lower Mainland to Golden Ears Cheesecrafters to dine on locally-grown and produced and prepared food on Sunday.
The $85-per-head event is a fundraiser for Farm Folk City Folk, a non-profit organization that works to cultivate a local, sustainable food with projects that support local growers and producers, help protect farmland and celebrate local food.
Guests were treated to a wide assortment of local food prepared by some of Vancouver's finest chefs.
"All the chefs have volunteered their time and their ingredients," said organizer Bonita Magee. "We couldn't do this event without our amazing volunteers."
Magee also praised the local agricultural advisory committee and the Haney's Farmer Market for their help and support in putting the event together.
