The Maple Ridge Museum wants to show that rocks can indeed rock with the new Legendary Lapidary exhibit, which includes dozens of colourful stones, crystals, and minerals.

Created in partnership with the Maple Ridge Lapidary Club, this exhibit borrows all of its pieces from the club in hopes of taking advantage of the recent spike in the number of people interested in crystals and gemstones.

The museum explained that people gravitate towards these natural objects for many different reasons, with the primary ones being for aesthetic or spiritual purposes.

Maple Ridge Lapidary Club member Walt Pinder explained that the pieces chosen for the exhibit were separated into the three main categories of art, science, and spirituality.

“The Maple Ridge Lapidary Club is very excited to partner with the Maple Ridge Museum in this display,” said Pinder.

“We hope the public will find the display intriguing and follow up with visits to our clubhouse for Friday evening drop-in activities at 23750 Fern Cres.”

The Legendary Lapidary exhibit will be available for viewing at the Maple Ridge Museum until May of 2025.
