Maple Ridge residents looking to do a bit of swimming next weekend will have to look elsewhere as the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre will be closed for a regional swim meet.

On Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, the Ridge Meadows Swim Club will be hosting the RMSC Titans Spring Invitational, which will include Titans swimming levels one through three.

The swim meet will last most of the day, with warm-ups beginning at 7:15 a.m. and the finals competitions wrapping up at 6:30 p.m. on both days.

The City of Maple Ridge warned residents that on Saturday and Sunday, all of the pool amenities will be closed to the public, with regular hours of access returning on Monday, April 8.

The RMSC Titans are coming off some impressive performances at the 2024 Speedo Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg, which wrapped up on March 24.

Throughout the championships, three local swimmers were able to achieve personal bests in their respective events, with Kirin Bullock personally setting three new records.

Keenan Gander was even able to get a podium finish, earning second place in the 400m medley event.
