As vehicle owners, we want to make sure we get the most out of our purchase, and that means making sure it is serviced right.

You can go anywhere to have your service done, but many of us like going back to the dealership from where we made that purchase. And as a customer, we want to have a good experience throughout the process.

And it appears the customer service experience is working at West Coast Mazda, judging by the many repeat customers, cards of thanks and small tokens of appreciation that the dealership has received.

“The guys we have in our service department really strive to go the extra mile for their customers,” says fixed operations manager Mitch Clark.

Assistant service manager Jose Aguire, senior consultant Radford Winters and parts manager Dave Antonelli are the driving force behind that positive experience.

Whether it's making arrangements for late pick-ups or early drop-offs, or just the friendliness and the fun that they bring to the job, they make sure that a customer leaves the dealership feeling like they are a part of the West Coast family.

“With all the competition out there, if a customer likes coming here, it's much easier to retain future business,” Dave says. “Jose and Radford listen and help our customers to ensure it is a great experience for them.”

Jose has been at the dealership for 15 years, and says he has a special connection to the customers.

“They have seen me grow and I have seen them grow — their families grow. It feels more like a family,” he says. “There are literally customers that just come in and say, 'Do what needs to be done, Jose.' That is an amazing feeling when you get that recognition and that trust.”

Radford adds that when you love what you do, it’s easy to bring that love and passion for customer service.

“Building a relationship is key to making sure they enjoy their visit,” according to Radford. “I’m not happy unless they are happy. You have to love what you do and I love what I do.”
