Another Maple Ridge man faces riot charges
B.C. Crown approved 11 more charges against five suspected rioters on Tuesday, including a 21-year-old man from Maple Ridge.
Michael David Anderson faces two counts of mischief over $5,000 and one count of participating in a riot.
Thus far, a total of 197 criminal charges have been approved against 75 suspected rioters in connection with the the June 15 rampage that erupted after the Vancouver Canucks lost Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals to the Boston Bruins.
Onlookers shot video and photos and posted them on social media, fueling what has become a massive crowd-sourced police investigation.
Besides Anderson, four other young men from Maple Ridge face similar charges.
They include: Jeff Post, 20, Connor Epp, 20, Andrew Glenn Cuthbert, 20 and Jordan Houde, 18.
To date, the Integrated Riot Investigation Team has recommended 432 criminal charges against 150 suspected rioters. More charges are expected to follow.
