Fire destroys Maple Ridge mill
|
A massive fire at a Maple Ridge cedar mill brought firefighters to Waldun Group at 287 Street and Lougheed Highway shortly after midnight. At the height of the blaze, flames were seen stretching about 100 feet into the night sky. Mission Fire/Rescue Service's tanker trucks were called in to help supply water. No cause has yet been stated. Mill boom man Andy Trotter said the mill is a tight-knit group. A friend texted him last night about the fire, and Trotter noted he is concerned about his job. |
