Ridge grandma hits back at Xmas Grinch
Lynne Galaugher just didn’t like the idea of a seven-year-old having Christmas stolen from his front yard.
So she checked with her grandson Tyler and husband Wayne and retrieved their inflatable Santa on a Harley Davidson, then for good measure bought another new inflatable Santa and brought them to Chase Stillie, 6, on the weekend.
“He had a big grin on his face, so that was nice,” Galaugher said Tuesday. “That’s all the thanks you need.”
Chase and his mom Julie had five inflatable Christmas figurines stolen two weeks ago. The characters and lights filled their front yard on Cook Avenue, until someone snuck on to the property in the middle of the night, deflated the statues, and spirited away with everything but three scrawny reindeers.
The theft flabbergasted Galaugher, who said she just wanted to help out. “I don’t know how anybody could not have seen it.”
Chase’s yard will soon be filled again. Gemmy Industries, from Dallas, Texas, is also helping out. The company makes inflatable decorations and is sending an inflatable Snoopy in an airplane to help brighten the yard.
Chase’s grandma Mary Johnson has also bought two on the weekend while a couple gave her another two figurines.
