The suspect in a brazen theft at Ryan Jewellers on Thursday morning was caught by the store security cameras, casually walking out with a spinning jewelry display case full of crystal items in his arms.
The young-looking man, wearing light brown coveralls, a hoodie sweatshirt and ball cap with a green logo on the front, can be seen walking casually into the store at about 11:40 a.m. Thursday. A second camera angle shows him examining a spinning display case on the countertop, looking around to see if he is being observed, and then lifting the case and walking away.
The entryway camera captured him walking out of the store with the stolen case.
It was full of jewelry valued at between $3,000 and $4,000.
A complete inventory has yet to be completed.
Ryan Jewellers is in the Valley Fair Mall, at 22709 Lougheed Hwy.
Owner Thanh Cao said in his 15 years of owning the business, he has had one gunpoint robbery, but such brazen thefts are rare.
