No one injured in large house fire in Surrey

Sixteen Surrey firefighters tackled a large house fire in Whalley on Wednesday morning, Dec. 27. Nobody was injured as the occupants got out safely.

Battalion Chief Dino Michielin said the cause of the fire, in the area of 98A Avenue and 130 Street, is still unknown. Firefighters were alerted to it at 9:34 a.m., he said.

“We had flame and smoke showing on arrival, occupants were out, got out on their own, on arrival they had exited,” Michielin said.
