Alexander Archibald Barr "Archie"

Born in Helensburgh, Scotland on January 23, 1923 and passed away January 20, 2010, three days before his 87th birthday, surrounded by his family and friends he loved so much. Archie is now roamin in the gloamin with the love of his life, Alice, who pre- deceased him on October 19, 2008. Archie was also predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters, being the final surviving member of the Dunlop clan. Missed and always loved by daughter Evelyn and Fred Rilcoff and granddaughter Shari and Rory Young, grandson Ian and Tracey Rilcoff and great-grandchildren Shayna and Alexandra Young and Parker and Ellie Rilcoff and son Ted and Gaila Dunlop and family. Archie served in World War II as a paratrooper with the Cameron Highlanders and came to Canada in November 1947 and continued his trade as a Master Craftsman in carpentry, leaving our families with beautiful pieces for our homes that we will always treasure. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in emergency and 2 West at Ridge Meadows Hospital for your wonderful care and attention to Papa and our family over the last month. Your kindness helped make this journey easier. Thanks to Papa's family at Maple Ridge Seniors Village for all of their care, concern, love and attention given to him over the last 6 months. We would like to thank all of our wonderful family and friends near and afar that have loved our Nana and Papa as if they were their own and we are so thankful for their love and friendship.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 22165 Dewdney Trunk Rd. Maple Ridge on Saturday, January 30th at 2pm with a reception to follow. Interment will be Monday, February 1st at 11:30am.
