Passed away suddenly in his retirement home in Maple Ridge BC. Born in Sioux-Lookout, Ont. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years Rachel, mother Astrid of Vermillion Bay, Ont, son James (Jennifer) of Maple Ridge, daughter Michelle (Greg), grandchildren Evan, Julia and Kaitlyn of Courtenay, BC, half-sister Mary Ann Hines (Mike) of Florida, many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Prior to retirement, Ab was employed in the Pulp and Paper mill for over 36 yrs and loved to solve world problems with his many friends. He was a past member of the Golden Star Lodge No.484, Dryden, Ont, Euclid and Barclay Lodge No. 90 Port Alberni, BC. Ab enjoyed writing, outdoor living, horseback riding and later in life his iron horse.
Service to be held at MAPLE RIDGE FUNERAL CHAPEL (Osborn's), 11969 - 216th Street on Monday July 16 viewing @12 pm, service @2pm. Reception to follow. Also a celebration of his life will be held at the Bystrom Family Reunion (which Ab had been so looking forward to) Aug. long weekend, Westwood Lake Campground. Bring a photo or story to share.
