November 27, 1923 went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2006. Alma, the youngest of 4, was born in Montreal to English immigrant parents, John and Beatrice Knickel. At the age of 19 Alma married Harold Tretwold and was his devoted wife for 45 years. They had three children: Ed, Gwen and Harold. After the death of Harold Sr., she married James Larsen with whom she lived happily for 5 years until his passing August 16, 1994. She married her surviving husband Jerry on June 8, 1996. Alma is well known in her community. She was outgoing in nature and made friends easily. She possessed many talents and loved doing arts and crafts, playing piano and singing in the choir. Her latest passion was Hawaiian and Spanish dancing with a group. Always an enthusiastic companion, Alma and Jerry travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, Mexico and North America. Her kindness, generosity, spirit and perseverance touched the lives of many as she journeyed through life. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. She is predeceased by her daughter Gwen, her brother Ed and sister Veronica. She is survived by her sister Beatrice Gaglardi. The funeral mass, with Father Abundo Celebrant accompanied by the choir, will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge on March 6, 2006 at 10:30 am. Interment in the Rose Garden at Maple Ridge cemetery immediately following the mass.
