Betty Manning, our fun-loving Mom & Nanny left us peacefully on Sunday, March 26th. Born & raised in North Bay, Ontario, she is predeceased by her husband Brock Manning. Betty will be forever missed by her 4 daughters and their families, Mary-Ellen Canning (Scott & Adam), Nancy Forrest (Eric & Luke), Kathy Townsend (Devon (Brydon & Haley, Jaxon & Harper), Cameron, Brock & Mallory) Maggie Vincent (Keith & Josh). During her long life she made great friends of all ages. She worked for over twenty years at the Hudson Bay and it was here where she began a modeling career. Upon her retirement from The Bay, she became very involved with her grandchildren. She loved sports, in particular playing baseball on a senior league team. She lived in North Vancouver since 1974, and in 1994 moved with her daughter Kathy (Devon and family) to Maple Ridge, BC. One of her most endearing jobs came when working with School District 42, (Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows) in particular, Yennadon Elementary School, as a noon hour supervisor. A job that she absolutely adored. "Nanny Betty" was known for her cheeriness and her enthusiasm for life. She drew in everyone whose life she touched. Mom was a kid at heart and loved to line dance. She will be missed & forever remembered. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cartier House for the special care she received. No service by request.
