Bruce Elsdon Whittingham

March 19, 1940 - June 13, 2010

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bruce Elsdon Whittingham. Bruce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba March 19, 1940 and passed away in the early hours of Sunday June 13, 2010. Bruce courageously fought four previous battles with cancer in the last nine years before succumbing to this last battle. Married November 14, 1981 to his soul mate, wife and business partner Liz. Predeceased by his father William George (Barb) Whittingham, and his mother May Whittingham. He will be deeply missed by Liz, daughter Lee (Larry) Kram, son Scott (Kris) Whittingham, grandchildren Brittany, Ryan & Chelsea, Brandon & Garrett (and their mother Sheli Whittingham), Ty & Jack and two great grandchildren Taya and Breeyon, stepbrother’s Steve and Brian, stepsister’s Lynn and Donna, godfather Jack Brockest, cousins Don (Brenda) Kreutzer, Darlene (Murray) Deacon and many friends and colleagues.

Together Bruce and Liz experienced many joyous times with family and friends many of them while traveling and boating. His love of family and friends was foremost in his heart. His thirst for learning was insatiable and he endeavored to be the best he could be at whatever he was doing. His many passions included flying, boating, technology and real estate.

He had earned many real estate awards including being in the top 10% many times. His most cherished award was the Re/max hall of fame.

Bruce had an incredible love of life, positive attitude, a quick wit and sharp sense of humour that could always be counted on to make you smile. He was a great example to all of us who knew him and he will be sorely missed. He wanted all of you to know how humbled he was by your friendship and support particularly in the last few months.

An endless thank you to Dr. Q. Wasti, Dr. Mawani, Dr. N. and the incredible staff at McKenney Creek Hospice. Celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at Burnett Fellowship Baptist Church, 20639-123rd Ave., Maple Ridge, Saturday, June 19th, 2010 at 10:30 am. With lunch and refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to B.C. Children’s Hospital in Bruce’s memory.
