WALKER, Cecil Oscar (Ozzie)

After a courageous battle with cancer, our dear Papa passed away on April 2, 2010 at the age of 93. Born in Toronto on September 30, 1916, Ozzie moved to North Vancouver in 1966 where he owned and operated a heating and air conditioning business. Following his retirement he moved to Pitt Meadows, where he spent the last 25 years. Predeceased by Muriel, his wife of 53 years, Ozzie will be forever remembered by his son Ron (Lisette), daughter Noralea (Rob), grandchildren Lisa, Ronda, Sarah, Ryan, Justin, and great granddaughter Samantha. Nothing was more important to him than family and baseball. He coached and umpired for many years in North Vancouver, passing on his love of the game to many young players. Ozzie loved a good laugh and kept his sense of humor and positive attitude right to the end. Thank you to the staff and volunteers at Ridge Meadows Hospital and the Crossroads and McKenney Creek Hospices for their tender care and support. A celebration of Ozzie's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 17th at Pitt Meadows United Church, 12109 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society (604.463.7722) or the BC Cancer Agency (604.877.6040).
