Charlie passed away at the age of 86 following a courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his wives, Vera, Dawyn, and Irene. Survived by many close friends and family. His four daughters, Barbara (Phil); Cheryl (Peter); Debbie (Scott); Charlene (Craig) and 8 grandchildren, Andrew, Julia, Jessica, Thomas, Sarah, Kahlan, Lauren, and Duncan will miss him dearly. He had a remarkable life. He served in WW II and returned home and became a machinist. Dad’s greatest joy was playing the bagpipes. He was a member of many pipebands including the Seaforth Highlanders and the Gizeh Pipes and Drums. He was employed as a maintenance superintendent with BC Hydro and in various BC Pulp Mills. He retired at the age of 65 and spent his time traveling and visiting casinos. He was devoted to his family who will miss his smile and laughter. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to McKenney Creek Hospice, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or B.C. Cancer Society. Memorial Service Saturday, March 20th at 4:30 pm at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, 21299 River Rd., Maple Ridge.
