Chester KILSBY

March 17, 2010

KILSBY, Chester Douglas

Sept. 1929 ~ March 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear brother, uncle, and friend. Predeceased by his younger brother Bob, in 2009 and his eldest brother, Bill in 2003. Chester is survived by the last remaining brother in the family, Ray and his wife Betty, who reside in the state of Washington. Many nieces and nephews will remember their uncle fondly, as will his dear and devoted friend, Iris. Chester’s love of bowling, square dancing, and singing kept him busy even after he retired from Hammond Mill. The hobbies he loved so much gave him the opportunity to travel. Frequent road trips in Canada and the U.S. as well as, cruises to warm, sunny destinations. Unfortunately, a severe stroke in 2001 left him unable to enjoy his active lifestyle, but his love of music never waned. His last years were spent in Holyrood Manor, to whom we are very grateful for their wonderful care of Chester. Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969 – 216th Street, Maple Ridge, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.

A voice falls silent on earth,

but will forever sing in Heaven.

You will be missed Chester.
