CLIFFORD BROWN RIDLEY

February 1, 1927 ~ April 25, 2008

Cliff passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 81. Cliff was born in Peace River, Alberta and moved to Sussex, New Brunswick at age 14.

Family was everything to Cliff. He is survived by his loving wife Carol Anne, children Melissa (Phill), Jo-Anne (Bob), Bruce (Jaci), Pat (Rod), Sabrina, Bonita, Lorne (Kelly) and Vanessa (Jim), 17 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are his brother Walter (Mary Ann), nephew Jim (Ellie), nieces Linda and Donna and their families, dear friend Muriel Jordan and many family members and friends from across Canada.

He was predeceased by his parents Lorne and Lavilla, brothers James, Harold and Elmer and his sister Ellen.

Cliff was a long time resident of Maple Ridge and owner of Ridley Fuels. He was an active member of Webster's Corners United Church for over 50 years and a member of Prince David Masonic Lodge. In his retirement he loved to travel, especially to winter in Arizona and visit family across Canada and in Britain. He was an avid canoeist with the Dogwood Canoe Club. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and especially loved to bake and feed everyone. Anyone who knew him knew about his buttertarts and apple pie.

Our most grateful and heartfelt thanks to his longtime physician, Dr. D Chapman; who helped Dad through so many tough times with such care and compassion. Thank you to the staff at Gardenview for their care during his stay there. To Holyrood Manor our deepest thanks for looking after Dad with such love in what he called a "bed of roses", you are all angels.

In lieu of flowers donations to Webster's Corners United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.

We Love you Dad.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. Andrews United Church, 22165 Dewdney Trk Rd., Maple Ridge, B.C.
