It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dan tenBrink. Dan passed away peacefully on November 1 after a long battle with cancer.
He was surrounded in his last days and hours by his loving children, friends and family.
Dan was born May 8, 1969 in Maple Ridge to parents Rudy and Elaine, the second of three children. Dan was born and raised in Maple Ridge, and continued to call Maple Ridge his home for his entire life.
Dan was a proud father to Candace, Dylan, Megan and Broxton, and a loving uncle and father figure for many others. In later years his family grew to include Leah Zeballos and her daughters Bella and Briana.
His working life was spent in the residential housing industry - first as a builder, owner of Summit Ridge Homes Ltd. with his wife Christa, and then as a successful Realtor helping many clients to achieve their housing dreams.
Dan also contributed his time and energy to many charities and fund raisers over the years, and was always happy to be helping others. He was always generous with his time and resources, and has helped many friends and family throughout the years.
He took great pride in being a good friend, and always had time to spend listening and being there for friends in need.
Dan is survived by his children Candace Coulson (Matt), Dylan tenBrink, Broxton Walker, Megan tenBrink (Kole), his parents Rudy tenBrink (Judy) and Elaine Patterson (Al), brother Ron tenBrink (Maureen), sister Cindy Morton (Johnny), many nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts, and many many special friends.
Many thanks to Dr. Paul Sidhu and the nurses and staff in 3 North at Ridge Meadows Hospital who were incredibly professional and kind in Dan's last days.
