GALLIGAN ~ Dennis James
Jimmy passed away peacefully August 31, 2006. He will be sadly missed by his wife May, whom he loved and adored for 36 years. He will also be greatly missed by his daughters, Cheryl Phaneuf and Judy (Wayne) Minett and son Dennis, his grand-children Tara Smith, James and Sarah Minett. He is survived by his sister Patricia McDanial. Predeceased by his daughter Laura, parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Jimmy was born in 1923 in Arnprior, Ont. He left home to join the Army at 16 years old and served with great courage in the Irish Regiment in Italy. He moved to Maple Ridge and loved the town and people there for over 40 years. He was a dedicated friend of Bill W for 41 years and spent those years sharing his experience, strength and hope to help countless others in their sobriety. He was a true inspiration. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour and contagious laugh that could be heard for miles! He was a survivor and lived his life with immense passion and dignity. He will be truly missed by his friends and family. Memorial will be held at the Maple Ridge Legion Branch #88 on Saturday, Sept 16, 2006 at 1:00pm.
