June 8, 1936 - July 9, 2005
Adaptable and resilient could only describe our Mom and Nan's life and especially over the past 4 years while she battled with the effects and devastation of Ovarian Cancer. Mom leaves behind her family and friends who stood by her till the end. Survived by daughter Colene (Neil) Thompson, Kelly Johnson, and Russell (Elaine) Johnson, grandchildren: Matt (Bonnie), Shaun (fiance, Amy) Nicole, Brandon, Tyral and Ashly, Sister: April Harvey, former husband Ward Johnson and special friend, Gary Young. We would like to extend our thanks to the nurses and doctors at 2 West in Ridge Meadows Hospital and the nurses and volunteer staff at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody for the comforting care our Mom and Nan's received in the last days of her journey. We want to thank all mom's friends at Grace for their unending support. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005 @2pm at Grace Christian Fellowship Church located at 2606 Kingsway Avenue in Port Coquitlam. Mom's friend and Pastor, Doug Fortune will officiate. A "tea party" reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers we will be accepting donations at the memorial for Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation and Crossroads Hospice. This August, Colene, Colleen and Hazel will walk the streets of Vancouver in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer in memory of Dianne.
