Doreen Mary Robinson

December 18, 1927 - October 1, 2017

It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen in her ninetieth year.

Born on December 18th, 1927 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England, her family moved to Blackpool when she was 11.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Douglas, in April 1950.  They had four wonderful children: Tina (Bryon), Steven, Lynn and Lee (Joanne) followed by nine grandchildren:  Tara (Steve), Travis (Dawne), Meagan, Jessie, David, Eli, Danielle, Spencer, Sierra and three great-grandchildren: Dylan, Hannah and Paige.

The family emigrated to Canada in 1966, and lived in Saskatchewan for the first two years.  In 1968 they moved to Kenora, Ontario where Doreen established the Kenora Play Group and spent many happy years there.

In 1988, Doug retired from teaching and they moved to Maple Ridge, B.C. to join their family.  Doreen was a long-time member of St George Anglican Church and was the Social Director of the Silvertones Seniors' Choir in Maple Ridge for 28 years.

Doreen's greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She loved to travel (especially Cruising) with the love of her life, Doug, to whom she was married for 67 years.

A Celebration of Doreen's Life will be held at St. George Anglican Church,23500 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge on Oct 28th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Society BC.

So long as there is Love,  there can be no Death

So long as there is Love,  we know no Twilight
