We are saddened to announce the passing of Dorothy Jackson on September 8th, 2010 in Maple Ridge BC. Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband Woody Jackson, her parents Alice Lucy New & William Emmett Dalton and her adoptive parents Mont & Dolly New. She is lovingly remembered by her family, daughter Louise Menzel (nee Hamilton); granddaughter Danielle (Geoff); grandson Sean (Krista) ;grandchildren Aviana and Henry all of Pemberton BC. Dot will also be remembered and missed by her large circle of friends. Born Dorothy Mary Lucienne Dalton September 19, 1930 in Wainwright AB, Dot moved to Vancouver at the age of 13 where she attended John Oliver Secondary. She went on to work at Gainer's Meats until she moved to Pitt Meadows in the late 1950's where her and Woody built the family farm. In 1975 Woody and Dot moved to Clinton to realize their dream of living in the Caribou after one year in Sicamous. In the early 1980`s Dorothy moved back to Maple Ridge where she was very involved with the Haney Presbyterian Church and spent the last of her working years as the bookkeeper at Pitt Meadows Meats. After her retirement Dot became involved with The Canadian Red Cross and volunteered weekly. A service is to be held on Friday September 17th 2010 at Haney Presbyterian Church, 11858 - 216th Street, Maple Ridge, BC. Internment will be held at a later date in Clinton, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of your choice.
