Edith Leonora MORRISON

February 12, 2007

MORRISON, Edith Leonora (Robin)

Passed away peacefully at RMH 12th February 2007 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Francis in 1954, and her son Thomas Alexander (Sandy) in 2004. The sobriquet "Robin" was given her by the nurse attending her birth at Port Coquitlam hospital on 14th October 1915, and she was known as Robin by her family and friends ever since.

Robin was the daughter of Thomas Alexander and Lena Freer Baker and lived all her life in Haney, beginning and ending it at her home, which was built in 1905 by her uncle Dudley Freer for members of his family from England. She attended Haney Central school and graduated from Macleans High school. Her first occupation was as a hairdresser, and then after the death of her husband she worked for Anderson realty and later at Municipal Hall as a secretary until her retirement. She then embarked on a new career as marriage commissioner which she enjoyed doing until she was 85.

Robin loved her dogs, her home and garden, and playing bridge with her friends. She was a keen walker, loved to travel and never refused a picnic. She will be greatly missed by her friends who will always remember her with affection. No service by her request.
