WOOLDRIDGE, Edward "Bud"

July 14, 1912 ~ Feb. 24, 2010

Bud passed peacefully in Langley, completing 97 vibrant years of family, adventure and friends. Survived by his son Don, as well as his surviving sisters Clara, Peggy and Doris. Preceded by his son Ted and his wife Marjorie, Bud was also a 60 year member and Past President of the Burnaby Gyro Club. Bud's family farmed on Wooldridge Road in Pitt Meadows, and he later thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, logging on Vancouver Island in the '30s and '40s. On the Queen Charlottes, during WW II, he supervised harvesting of special spruce destined for construction of the DeHavilland "Wooden Wonder" Mosquito fast bomber. When he was 87, he accompanied Don to a wilderness fly-in tent camp in the Brooks Range in Alaska.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 6th at 2 pm at Glenbrook Park, 76 Jamieson Court, New Westminster.
