EMBREE-WHARREN - Elsie Jane (nee Wharren) our dear mother passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2007 at the age of 89. Absent from the body, forever with the Lord. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Maynard (Susan) Embree, Karenne (Alan) Hartley, and Karelle (Craig) Broyles. and her grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew (Amy), Johanna (Curtis), Megan, Rebecca, Nathaniel, Nathan and Stephen. Born in Baraca, Alta. to Forrest and Eva Wharran. She is survived by brothers Harvey and Ivan Wharran, and many nieces and nephews. Elsie was a mother and homemaker, Missionary and ESL Teacher in Hong Kong (Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) and Taiwan (Presbyterian Church in Canada) with her husband Rev. Bernard L. M. Embree. Upon her return to Canada she completed a B. A. at SFU. Elsie loved laughter, music, and the company of friends and family over a cup of tea. A free spirit, her travels took her all over the world. Special thanks to Dr. J. Lam, Dr. Gibson and Dr. B. Bright and the staff at Golden Ears Retirement Centre, Valleyview Hospital and Deltaview Habilitation Centre for their exceptional care and loving support over the years. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Haney Presbyterian Church, 11858 216th. Street (Lougheed Hwy) Maple Ridge, BC on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at 2:00 pm.
