SNYDERS, Emanuel Nicolaas (Mike)
It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my dear husband, father and grandfather, Emanuel Nicolaas (Mike) Snyders on July 16, 2006. Mike was born on August 8, 1931 in Wognum, North Holland. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise; his sons, Nick (Leslie), Mike (Rita), Ed (Julie) and Patrick; his grandchildren, Paula, Theresa, Michael, Mac and Nicole as well as 2 brothers and 2 sisters in Holland and 1 brother in Australia. Mike came to Canada in 1954 from Holland to Calgary, he saw the mountains of BC and wanted to go west. He met Louise in Kamloops in 1955. They were married and moved to Mission in 1959. Mike worked in the forest industry, joined the Mission Volunteer Fire Department in 1962 and was also a paramedic on the weekends for the Mission Ambulance Service. Mike survived a near fatal accident in 1997 and was taken care of by his loving family for the last 9 years. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 32550 Seventh Avenue, Mission, BC on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice, 7324 Hurd Street, Mission, BC V2V 3H5.
