PARK ~ Gordon William

Born in Pitt Meadows on August 29, 1920 passed away December 9, 2005 after battling cancer for 16 months. Gordon is survived by Eileen his wife of 26 years; son Bill (Debbie); daughters Peggy (Terry), Linda (Dave); four grandchildren Rob, Jessica, Neil and Colin. Nephew Doug Anderson; Niece Donna Barnes and their families. Also long time friends Doug McDermott and Danny Sharpe. Predeceased by wife Alma (1977), sisters Frances Stevens (1996) and Hazel Anderson (1996).

Gordon was the son of Pitt Meadows pioneers William and Mary (Minnie) Park and he lived his entire life on the family farm. His long working career was spent dairy farming and he served as a director of the Fraser Valley Milk Producers for 25 years and as President for 10 years. He was also involved with the BC Federation of Agriculture and Dairy Farmers of Canada.

Gordon was a councillor of the Municipality of Pitt Meadows for 16 years, a long time Rotarian, a Pitt Meadow Volunteer firefighter and a founding member of the Pitt Meadows Gun Club. He and Eileen spent many happy days pursuing their hobby of trapshooting and traveling the world. The evening Gordon passed away was spent watching the Vancouver Canucks with Eileen and his grandson. (The Canucks won!)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the charity of your choice. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
