Hanna Schlagintweit
December 1, 1923 - April 28, 2017
Born in Germany, Hanna graduated an MD, followed by specialty training in ophthalmology from the University of Heidelberg. She immigrated to Canada in 1953, and moved to Maple Ridge in 1965. Hanna died suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her husband Hugo, and son Florian. Hanna is survived by five children: Max, Stefan (Lisa), Robert (Emily), Kris (Ruth), George, and eight grandchildren. A proud and accomplished mother, Hanna was also a passionate musician, a creative fibre artist, and an enthusiastic gardener. Her participation in community initiatives was ongoing. A memorial service for Hanna will be held on June 7, 2:00 pm, Haney Presbyterian Church, 11858, 216th Street, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 5H8.
