SEARLS, Harvey William
Passed away in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the age of 80, as a result of lung cancer. He passed away at his home in Vancouver with his wife and son at his side. Harvey was born in Woodstock, Ontario and worked as a telegrapher for C.N. Railway before joining the Armed Forces. After 25 years of service Harv retired in 1975 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. During his military career he served in a combat role in Korea and during his career was also awarded several medals and decorations. Harv will be lovingly missed and never forgotten by Nancy, his friend, soul mate, partner and wife of 60 years and his 4 children and their families: Mike (Vancouver); Linda (Ed Molody, from Erin, Ontario); Wendy (Dave Neufeld, Vancouver); Judy (Dan Kirkland, Port Coquitlam); 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also left to mourn is his older sister, Eleanor and her family (Mississauga, Ontario).
Cremation has taken place. No flowers by request, but consider a donation to your favourite charity. REST IN PEACE.
