BREMNER ~ James (Jim)

Passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge B.C. on December 6th 2005. Born in Wicks Caithness, Scotland, on July 21, 1921. He immigrated with his family to Whitby, Ontario at a young age. Served in WWll (1940 ~ 1945) with the Royal Canadian Engineers in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Upon his return from Overseas he spent over 30 years of dedicated service with the Ministry of Health in Ontario. He was a 58 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served on the Executive. Was a member of the Ontario Civil Service Retiree Association, the Quarter Century Club and the Canadian Atlantic Retired Sappers Association. Jim was decorated with the Queen's Jubilee Medal.

He leaves to mourn, his wife of 59 years Alfreida (Love) residing in Ontario, his daughters Linda (Gordon Chatten), Janet (Georges Depocas), Alexis (Hedley Stel), Maureen (Taylor), and his son Robert; his grandchildren Christine (Blair Gobel), Theresa Chatten (Doug Rutt), Michael Chatten, Dave Depocas (Amber), Jacqueline Depocas (Molson), Michelle (Steve Seddon), Susan and Elyssa-Faye Taylor; great-grandchildren Amanda-Lynn, Matthew, Timothy, Kristen, Nicola, Adam, Mitchell and Amanda-Kalee.

A celebration "Of Life" will take place on Sunday December 11th at 2PM, at the Royal Canadian Legion, 12101 ~ 224th Street, Maple Ridge, B.C. Padre Dal McCrindle will perform a Christian Military Service.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, Box 5000, 11666 Laity Street, Maple Ridge, B.C. V2X 7G5.
