Jeanne Belle BASSO

February 26, 2006

BASSO, Jeanne Belle (Younghusband (McIntosh)), born Oct. 13, 1931 passed away peacefully with her family at her side Feb. 26, 2006. Survived by devoted sister Victoria Garrioch, predeceased by sister Agnes Flynn and brother Angus McIntosh.

Jeanne had a 31 year career with F.W. Woolworths, in Prince Rupert. On retirement she moved to 100 Mile House, then Mission and finally Maple Ridge. Jeanne was the first Aboriginal co-worker of "The Women of the Moose," staying active for many years. An avid reader, bingo player, camper and bowler. A loving mother/stepmother to Randy, Debra, Ellen, Kristan, Victor, Wayne, Brian, Eddy and Lady. Proud grandmother to numerous grandchildren. A terrific sense of humor, always the life of the party, dancing, creating outlandish costumes, and known for singing off-key. Her brilliant mind and love of life continues to inspire. She never missed an important date or celebration, and was quick to knit a gift.

We would like to acknowledge the exceptional staff at Holyrood Manor for their outstanding care and compassion for our mom.

A celebration of Jeanne's life is being held at Garden Hill Funeral Home in Maple Ridge Sat., March 4, 2006 at 2pm.

Mom, you will be in our hearts forever!
