MARSHALL

John Alexander

Sept. 13, 1940~Feb. 23, 2009

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of John, after his very courageous and hard fought battle with cancer at age 68. He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Brenda of 44 years, son Kevin, daughters Kelly (Scott) Sadler, Laura (Jim) Quinnell, and Bobbie (George) Weidner, his 4 grandchildren Marshall, Kira, Davin, and Angelica, and his many friends. John was a remarkable man who always put others first, was never in a rush and always had time for others. He will always be remembered for his humbleness, honesty, many wonderful conversations, and being a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and amazing friend. He loved to tinker, always building or repairing things, coaching softball, and enjoying his weekly coffee outings with his buddies; but his passion was Ham radio. John worked in the telecommunications for 30+ years and, after an early retirement, decided to take a custodial position with S.D #42 for 10 years to keep busy.

His Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 7th at 1:00pm at Hammond Elementary School, 11520 - 203rd st Maple Ridge.

A very special thank you to the "angels" at McKenney Creek Hospice; including all the amazing volunteers and also to Dr. Fernandes and staff & Dr. Spittel.

In lieu of flowers donations to the B.C Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
