ENNS, Leonorah Ruth

Ruth, as she preferred to be called, passed away unexpectedly January 29, 2010, in the Abbotsford Hospital at age 85. She was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan on June 17, 1924, residing in Swift Current, Regina and Saskatoon before moving to the coast in 1965 with her family. She remained a loyal Roughrider booster to the end.

Ruth was pre-deceased by her parents Tom and Nora Bentley and beloved brothers Wells, Don and Jack. She married husband John in January of 1946 and they "celebrated" 64th wedding anniversary Januray 23rd in the hospital. She leaves behind daughters Sharron (Gerald) and Tacy (Are), 3 granddaughters and 4 great-grandkids. Ruth was very proud of her Canadian heritage which dates back to the 1700s and she instilled that pride in her family. She was an "A" student all through her school years and studied music and piano with the same "A" results. She was active in the Kinette Clubs in Swift Current and Regina and was employed by the CIBC for 17 years before joining her husband in the family business. She retired in 1990. Ruth will be greatly missed by many.

Thank you to the hospital staff and the visitors and special thanks to friend and "daughter" Vidyul Klassen for her selfless support and daily attendance during the long struggle with cancer and it's evil offshoots. By Ruth's choice there will not be a service. She always hated to impose on or inconvenience anyone. A fierce supporter of animal welfare, a donation in her name to the S.P.C.A. or shelter of your preference would be welcome.
