RAIL, Mary Ida (nee DeVille)

Passed away peacefully at Baillie House, Maple Ridge, on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the age of 85 years old. Mary was born in Edmonton, AB and raised in Gunn, AB. Mary worked most of her employable years with the Department of National Defence with her earlier years in Shilo, Manitoba and subsequently retired in 1990 from DND in Vancouver, BC. Mary married Joseph (Ned) in 1955 in Noranda, Quebec. Mary will be sadly missed by daughters Debbera Rail and Leigh Quarfordt of Maple Ridge, BC; Caroline Rail- Spicer of Maple Ridge, BC; Leona Rail-Czaban of Coquitlam, BC and sister Margaret Visser of Calgary, AB; three nieces and two nephews from Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews residing in Ontario and Quebec. Mary is also survived by grandchildren Mason Ramsey of Fort MacMurray, Alberta; Alyssa Spicer of Maple Ridge, BC; Mathew Ramsey of Coquitlam, BC and Madison Czaban of Coquitlam, BC. Mary was predeceased by her husband Joseph; parents Robert and Elsie DeVille; brothers Donald, Richard and Robert; sisters Isabelle, Dorothy and Elsie. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel (11969 - 216th Street, Maple Ridge) on February 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the SPCA or the Alzheimer Association. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Baillie House for their tireless care and compassion. Her laughter and beautiful smile will be remembered and sadly missed by all.
