SELEZINKA ~ Mary

Mary Selezinka (nee Grekul), passed away peacefully on Dec. 30, 2008 at her daughter's home in Maple Ridge B.C. at the age of 82. Predeceased by her parents George & Elizabeth Grekul, brothers Bill, Steve and Victor. She is survived by her sister Anne (Garnet), seven children Peter, Brian, Connie (Gordon), Darlene (Dan), Myron (Angela), Betty (Michael), and Paul, six grandchildren Jason, Brent (Tennille), Christine (Steve), James (Marta), Daniel and Tiffany, four great grandchildren Rayven, Kayden, Arwyn and Kyeran. Her circle of love included many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was born in Rife, Alberta and lived in the Edmonton area until 1967, then moved with her family to Coquitlam, B.C. She was a school teacher in Alberta and B.C. We are very proud of her achievements including conferral of a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simon Fraser University, where she also worked as a supervisor in the Library. She was an active volunteer for many charities including the ALS Society, United Way, Heart and Stroke, and March of Dimes. Baba was a loving (grand and great) mother, a caring friend to all who knew her and loved by everyone dearly. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's memory to the ALS Society of B.C. Visitation was held Monday, January 5, 2009 at 7:00pm. at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel 11765 -224th St. Maple Ridge, B.C. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm.
