Devoted husband to Rhonda, proud father to Sarah and loving grandfather to Rayden and Brody. After being diagnosed with cancer and COPD, Mike passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 8, 2017. He is predeceased by his father (Doug), mother (Joan) and brother (Larry). He is survived by sisters; Yolanda (Frank), Colleen (Randy), Kim (Steve), Bernadette (Jack). Born in Guelph, Ontario, he came to Vancouver in 1977 when he began a career in the steel industry and then at Tree Island Industries. Mike was a leader and involved in everything from community sports to work in Health and Safety with the Teamsters Union. He brought laughter to anyone in his presence and if you needed him, he would always be there for you.
As per Mike’s request, there will be no funeral.
