MITCHELL

William H. “Bill”

December 6, 1915 ~ April 9, 2008

Bill passed away quietly surrounded by the loving care so richly deserved by one who was a true gentleman and a gentle man throughout his life.

As a farmer, Bill was no stranger to hard work and long hours but still found time to give to his community. He was active in farm and community organizations as well as serving his church in many ways. Although he did not see his contributions as exceptional, he earned the respect of all who worked with him and was twice honoured by his community – in 1995 for “his dedication to the Pitt Meadows Heritage and Museum Society and in 1996 received a Certificate of Recognition from the District of Pitt Meadows for his “exemplary community spirit.”

Bill loved and was loved by all children and especially gave unfailing love, support and encouragement to his two daughters.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Robert and Charlotte, brother Norville, sisters Jean and Isabel and his loving wife of 38 years, Ella Jane Neuert.

He will be greatly missed by his twin daughters, Verna-Gean Tylor and Ruth-Ann Mitchell (James Kitts), grandchildren Rory Bray (Rachel), Verna Welling (Mark), and Koraley Tylor, great grandsons Christopher and Eric Welling as well as his brother Fred, nieces, nephews and many friends. He will also be missed by the family of the late Norma Cruickshank whom he married late in life.

A celebration of Bill’s life will take place at the Pitt Meadows Community Church on Thursday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m.
