Murray Barrett, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away suddenly on September 8, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer.

Murray was born and raised in Radville, Saskatchewan. He and his wife, Sharon, raised their family in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where Murray was active in many community activities. They moved to Maple Ridge, BC in 1992 where he enjoyed senior sports, playing tennis almost daily and co-coaching and playing on the Maple Ridge Stars senior slo-pitch team. Murray's first love was his family and his second love was sports, particularly his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Murray leaves to mourn his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon, their three children, Cindy (Jack), Kent (Coleen), and Brett (Lori), five grandchildren, Michael, David, Talia, Aidan and Kyle, as well as a brother, Floyd (Athalie), three sisters, Fern (Harry), Dorothy, and Betty (Al), a sister-in-law, Tillie, brothers-in-law, Art and Bryon (Marie-Paule), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was pre- deceased by his parents, Prescott and Ellen, grandson Ethan, and brother Don.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 11 AM at the Haney Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Agency or the charity of your choice.
