TIEMSTRA ~ Neeltje

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Neeltje, wife, mother and friend peacefully surrounded by her boys on October 14, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Neeltje met and married Hylke in Holland in 1947 and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953. Prior to leaving Holland they had two sons: Frits and Garry. In 1956 they moved to Vancouver where they had 3 more sons: Ronald, Raymond and Gordon. They lived in East Vancouver until 18 years ago when they moved to Maple Ridge. Nell is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Hylke of 61 years, children; Garry (Ginette), Ron, Ray (Caren) and Gord (Noelle), grandchildren: David (Diana), Stephen, James, Kory, Michelle (Cary), Jason, Melissa, Tyler, Benjamin, Logan and Andrea and great-grandchildren Isaac, Ethan and Abigail. She is predeceased by her son Frits in 2001. A special thank you to all the nurses and volunteers at McKenney Creek Hospice for making mom's last week so comfortable. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969-216th Street Maple Ridge, B.C.
